Recently I seldom use the lens, however I tend to mount my lenses at times to give them a run.
However, when I just mounted the 100-300, it couldn't focus and I had to rub the copper plates in order to establish the connection with the camera body. I tried other lenses and tried the lens on two bodies and the other lenses worked instantly with no issues at all.
I have lenses that I don't use often yet they don't have such an issue. I wonder if anyone has similar experience?
Indeed a year or something ago I replaced this lens under warranty, I just wonder if this lens is prone to this problem? Any input is welcome :)

Probably something got spilled or condensed on one or more of the contacts. It happens. They're not moving parts so they don't wear out and it's very unlikely to have been some kind of defect. Since they're electrical, however, they ARE sensitive to something getting on them and interrupting the signal.
