Taiwan and Japan have this lens now and it is available on eBay but at prices starting around $900. That's a 50% premium on predicted US prices. I think I can wait.
Amazon US still has it pending availability at $600.
I plan on buying when I can get one closer to $500, which probably means late 2011 at the soonest. In the mean time the 45-200 and my 300 adapted Pentax and Nikon lenses will serve me just fine. I can wait as well. The same for the 14.
Same thing is occurring with the Panny 14mm lens. It's available for pre-order for $399.99 in the US, but Asian sellers have it on Ebay for $550 or more.
With that money, I'll get the Olympus 70-300 and an adapter, a FL -36R flash, a new SD card, 4GB more ram and a 2-way ticket to Florida. I think I still have spare for a drink, if I look around for air ticket.

A German store has it in stock for € 629, a Dutch store offers it for € 599 but doesn't have it in stock. Can't buy it though because I preordered the GH2 (and to be honest, it wouldn't see a lot of use :smile.
