Pancake vs quality: Which m39 50?

hi to all,
I'm searching for a little lens for m39 (as I yet own an m4/3 adapter).

I'll try to buy an industar-69 28 2,8 due to its size, and I'm also searching for a 50mm, but there are tooooo many 50mm for m39.

is the smallest I saw until now (with also FED 50mm collapsable), but also there are Industar-61, it's 2.8 but larger, and the jupiter-8 that is f2, also larger than industar-50

which of those performs better on m4/3? Better to go with larger but f2 jupiter8, or quality is quite the same for the little 50 f3,5? and the FED?

I've owned all the lenses you've listed - here's my take:

The Jupiter-8 (get the earlier bare aluminum version) is the best all-around lens.

The FED 50mm collapsible is very sharp but is nearly two stops slower than the Jupiter-8. Still, it's a fun lens. https://www.mu-43.com/showthread.php?t=21291

The Industar-61 has poor contrast compared to the Jupiter-8, is not as sharp and is one stop slower.

The Industar-69 will need simple to moderately complicated modifications to achieve infinity focus. https://www.mu-43.com/showthread.php?t=20259 https://www.mu-43.com/showthread.php?t=20477 The image is soft, especially in the corners.

The Industar 50mm 3.5 pancake is an SLR lens. Even though it uses an M39 screw mount, it needs an M42 adapter with a M42-M39 conversion ring to get you close to the correct register and you'll probably need to modify the adapter to get the register right. I'd stay away from that one.

jupiter-3 begins to cost too much, as I already have olympus 45mm. I want something between a pancake and a good lens to use for manual focus sport and concert shot, and think 50mm f2 is good and small enough to match the achieves.
If will find cheap industar-69 and 50, maybe will give a try, due to their small dimensions

Just wanted to make sure, since all of the other talk has been regarding 50mm lenses, and I have seen too many times where people miss the "eqivalent" part of a review. I am guessing price is a major consideration? I know Minolta made the M Rokkor for L39, but it isn't cheap

yes, it has also to be cheap (or really cheaper than an AF lens, as f.e. jupiter-9 85mm f2 vs olympus 75mm f1.8 I think manual lenses are a good way to have fun, for a moderate price, otherwise to me it's better to go with AF lenses

I tried Industar 69 vs OM 28mm 3.5,
obviously om is better, but 69 + m39 adapter is very compact combo.

Industar 61 vs Helios 44-2 vs om 50mm 1.8
imo Industar 61 is worst one from these lens, om is best, but Helios has funny bokeh

Industar 50 not comfortable to use

I have only one doubt still, would be jupiter-8 usefull having yet 45mm 1.8, or would be better go with industar 50 due to dimensions?

Even tho the IHOP near me puts out some delicious pancakes on a daily basis, I think the local Fire house in Harriman, on their monthly, Sunday charity breakfast, makes a much better pancake for a better value.

most compact version - Industar 69 f2.8 + Industar 50 20 f3.5 collapsible with m39 adaptor.
Jupiter 8 is 50mm also

thanks to all. some days ago, I tried some m39 lenses at a local shop..

I found that industar 50 3,5 is beautiful, as ld-61, and collapsible 50. but jupiter-8 is awesome, exactly what I was looking for: strong image, good sharpness even at f2, small. bought it for 40€, 9 blades circular iris!.
Tried also 85mm f2... and didn't like, as many other zoom, very beautiful, but no 28mm to try. maybe I'll take an helios-44 58 f2, and something around 25-30mm, any tips?

IMO Helios 44 is "must have" lens -cheap and nice,
I like it more, then OM 50mm 1.8 and Industar 61 ld

The Jupiter 8 is an f2 Zeiss Sonnar. It's the lens that made Zeiss/Contax famous in 35mm photography. The various 50-ish Industars are mostly Tessar types in assorted packagings. I'd go for the Jupiter too if I was shopping for another 50 despite my fondness for Tessars. I like my Helios too.

ok, maybe I made something wrong
I bought an helios-44 for m39, but didn't see it is for zenit 11, for wich a simple m39 adapter won't work.
so, will I need an m42 adapter + an m39 to m42 adapter to use it on m4/3?
