I need a replacement strap anchor eyelet for one of my GX8s. The eylet appears to be plated brass with a hardened steel insert. My insert has come loose.
I emailed Panasonic via their web site a couple of weeks ago. Instead of answering, they bounced me to a parts supplier, Encompass. The Encompass rep was too lazy to look for GX8 eyelets and demanded a full part number. OK: DMCGX8K Very smooth way to blow off a customer and get his/her telephone statistics up. Four or five days later I got a response that said "Please contact Panasonic at 855-772-8324 (option 6) " OK, called that number but there is no option 6. And it is not Panasonic, it is someone called Heartland Customer Solutions. No joy there. The rep flipped me to what is supposed to be a Panasonic general customer inquiry number, 800-211-7262. Minimum delay to talk to a rep: 20 minutes.
I would wait 20 minutes if I thought there was a chance of talking to someone who knows something useful. But the odds of a general consumer rep being useful are so low that I thought I'd try here first. Has anyone found a crack in the Panny parts stone wall?
TIA
