    Hi.

I saw in dpreview forums that while the fl-lm3 flash is supposedly only supported by the Olympus em5 mark 2, it has the same pin configuration as the Panasonic gm5 and lx100 and works with both of them (some plastic lip has to be cut off for a good physical fit in the hotshoe, but that's all).

Before I order and fl-lm3 for my lx100, can someone who owns this configuration please upload images for the following 3 tests:

    1. Auto ISO, F5.6, 1/500, bounce flash from ceiling in a dimly lit room

    2. Repeat for F16, 1/4000 with bounce

    3. Like 2, but direct flash

I basically want to know if the flash really is compatible in every way with the lx100 and those tests will let me know that.

    Thanks !

Here are the results, I selected auto ISO, the camera choose ISO800 for all pictures. These were taken in my hallway with all the doors shut so it was nearly pitch black. the camera was set at 35mm.

These are RAW converted straight to JPEGs in LR6 with no editing done, obviously improvement to the images can be made.

My opinion is that this will make a great social combo especially if you're at a place with low ceilings. You can take a portrait shot of someone and swivel the flash so it is pointing upwards. If someone is having a good old dance, you have the ability to freeze the action. this is one of the reasons I bought this camera.

How does it compare with the included Panasonic flash? I know the Panasonic flash does not bounce, but for direct flash is one better then the other? are the recharge times the same?

No worries, although I had already tried it at 1/4000th sec, I had not tried it at f16 or on auto ISO, so it was good opportunity to see what this camera/flash combination could do at those settings.
