"Usually ships within 1-2 months."

This is a fantastic price on a fantastic lens if you don't mind waiting.

It's coming up now as being in stock, but at a price of $445 :frown:
You often need to click on the complete list of prices from all sellers to see what's really going on. Right now, Amazon is showing $362 from them (in 1-2 months). $445 is from a 3rd party.

Except for it's possible problem with shutter shock between 1/80 and 1/200 sec., it is the best of the non f2.8 long zooms. I've read the 45-150 is equal or barely worse ( depending on source) but the 45-175 has power zoom. I think the shutter shock issue has been mostly resolved with firmware updates. I never had a problem with it on the EM5.

That's that's what I was hoping. I already have the 45-150, so I'll have to try them both out and see which one has better handling for my needs.

One nice feature is that it is internal zoom and focus. The latter part is not unusual, but the former is ... and very nice. Off the top of my head, I believe that it is the only zoom in the system, other than the 35-100mm and 7-14mm (I think), to have this feature.

I bought the 45-150 mainly because of the shutter shock problems (and a ton of people complaining on online forums of a defective batch), and the fact that I would not be able to return a defective one since I live in Colombia and I use a mail forwarding company.

The 45-175 might be better for video, although it is heavier and longer compared to a collapsed 45-150.

It's still pretty tiny, and as you note doesn't get longer when you zoom. I was very pleasantly surprised when I got mine a year back.

Available again at $210. Still says "Usually ships within 1 to 2 months." Make sure to choose Amazon.com as the seller on the right side.

Available again at $210. snip...
Thanks (I think ) for posting that the price was again $210, did it. :2thumbs:

I've been considering the Pan 100-300 for a (much) longer lens than my 'everyday' 35-100, though I’ve not been sure it's the 'right' lens for me, nor wanted to spend the $500 on the 100-300 just yet.

$210 seems so inexpensive, making it easy to give this lens a try. If I hate it, I bet I can sell it used for $200!?

Just ordered one

Expected delivery July 12 - August 7.

I already own a 45-150 zoom. When this arrives, I'll do a comparison and decide which one to keep. I figure this price is good enough that I can afford to do this and probably at least break even if I sell it.

You are welcome! Looks like another member bought one too.

$210 seems too inexpensive not to give this PZ lens a try. If I hate it, I bet I can sell it used for $200!?
Average eBay price is about $250 for a used one in excellent condition with original box. You should get $200 easily after fees and shipping cost.

Ordered one as well as a smaller replacement for my 45-200. The size difference plus the extra features of the 45-175 made it a no-brainer for me.

But then I rarely use my brains for any purchase or I would make fewer of them.

And for those who want to compare all of them (from 43Rumours):

Surprisingly, the weight spec on this lens is only 10 grams more than the 45-150. It's about 5/8" inch longer than the 45-150 when they are not in use, but of course the 45-150 expands quite a bit when zooming and focusing, while the 45-175 does not.

Great point - plus I figure internal focusing and zooming will reduce the amount of dust that will accumulate in the lens over time.
