I've been waiting to buy this lens and at this price I had to jump on it! Of course, if you have amazon prime, shipping is only 2 days. Can't wait until Monday!

It's a great little lens, I was surprised by how small and light it was when I got it. Definitely a deal at $169 if you don't have a telephoto.

Grrrrr. I just bought one 34 days ago from Amazon for $212 so I am outside of the return/price adjustment window.

For $169, it is a great little lens. At that price, you can easily overlook any shortcomings of the lens!

Is this lens better than the 45-200mm beside the size difference?

It is sharper then 45-200 per test sites, but for me adv is its small size. However it doesn't have the reach of 45-200 and bokeh might be better w/ 45-200mm. I haven't used the 45-200 for a while and used the 45-150mm last Sunday only.

You can check for their detailed test reviews:

Good lens. I had this for a bit before my 45-175 came in. Tried them both and ended up keeping the 175 for the extra reach and the fact that it's internal zoom. The 150 doubles in size at full zoom.

If you have a gear list at DP Gearshop you can get an additional $50 off of $169 with the gear list coupon code. I was tempted to get the 45-160 but I used my discount on the Oly 45 1.8 and got it for $299 (free 2nd day air shipping).

I received the code a while back but didn't have a plan to use it. Combined with this deal I just got the lens for 130 after tax! Have been looking for a deal on the 45-175 for a while now but this deal is too good to pass on. Sweet deal indeed.

Edit: Oops, looks like I spoke too soon, forgot I let a friend use the $50 off code.. hummm, still tempted to get it at 169...

My code didn't work so I emailed Gearshop and they "installed" the $50 discount as an account credit.

So how does one get this? Went to the gear shop and didn't see anything about this. Is this something oyu have to sign up for?

You have to register and create a gear list. Afterwards they send you an email with the code (usually in your spam folder). This is the second coupon code I've gotten since this summer. The first was for only $20 but could be spent on anything so I bought a new OEM battery. The $50 code needs to be spent on a camera or lens.

How does this lens compared with the Olympus 40-150mm?

From what I gather they're about equal optically, but with the Panasonic ahead on build quality, OIS and metal mount.
