If :
- you want to shoot wide angle, but 14-16 is too much
- you want to take portraits at 50EQ
- you want to use 28-35 and you want play with subject separation sometimes
- you do reportage or sport/event shooting and changing lenses might be a problem
- you don’t mind a bit of bulk and size
- you don’t mind to act first and think later (like me :) )

... then there is no other solution :)

It's the real deal. Every bit as good as my primes but a whole lot more versatile. Surprisingly the size and weight are not an issue. It's much lighter than it would appear to be and it balances quite well on a G9. It's sharp, good contrast and as a Leica, holds good detail in highlights and shadows without turning to mush. No issues with back lighting, and AF speed is as fast and accurate as any of the newest lenses, zoom or prime. For me it replaces four lenses in my daily kit, the 12-60 PL, 7.5 Laowa, 15 PL or 16 Sigma, and 25 P or 30 Sigma. Panasonic really hit it out of the park with this one!

Here's a few that I shot today at the National Day of Service...

From the quality point of view - yes. The sharpness and rendering is really prime-like.

If your routine does not requiere the 8-9 and 26-35 extremes and if the size is not a problem, then now I would definitely pick 10-25 instead of 8-18 + 12-35 (if I had to choose one or other).

As a bonus you get 2,7x more light and more bokeh, if you want to play with it.

Also, for me (shooting sport and reportage) it is nice, that 10 mm, although it is very wide, it does not distort people to such extent, as 7-8 mm (I also have 7-14/2,8).

And As I wrote, having very wide and portrait lens in one "person" is very handy.
