Panasonic Leica 15mm f/1.7 DG Summilux Image Thread

I got some quick samples with the 15mm. it's a very nice lens and very small. our store had Panasonic training so they had 2 GH4s with the 15mm f1.7 and 2 GH4s with the 42.5mm to use.

EXIF data should be there.

EDIT: I only uploaded two shots because I got carried away with the continous shooting mode with the belly dancer lady. it's like a machine gun.

Here are a bunch of new images from the 15mm 1.7. I am happy with the results, however, I do not like how the hood attaches. Seems like there is a magnet that clicks into place, but it keeps loosening on me. I am switching to a threaded hood.

Very happy with the angle of view, the feel of the lens, and the detail. A worthy investment.

Why are there two image threads for this lens? I think this should be merged with the 'Panasonic Leica' one.

The other thread you mentioned is more about pre-order availability + internet reviews.

Is there a close-up that shows the hood detail that you mentioned?

It is a little hard to explain. Maybe a video would be better, but I'll do my best. The hood is a bayonet style. There is a ring that needs to be removed first before attaching the hood. It appears to be a small spring loaded piece of metal that makes it feel like a magnet. The resistance is a bit too weak and a couple of times when I take the camera out of a bag or pick up the lens the hood will be loose and easily comes off.

I do like the rubber snap in lens cap with it though. Overall the hood is very sturdy and nice looking. I might just be too rough on my gear. My threaded ventilated hood for my 20mm holds tight and I will use that.

Also, I am happy to move these comments and images to a different thread if needed. I am not sure exactly how to do that though.

Very unusual lens hood for this 15mm lens. It is attached in this photo.
