I've seen a couple of comments regarding this new lens but I'm struggling to find out anything about it!

Anyone know when it will be officially announced? When we can get our hands on it? And how much it's going to cost?!

I haven't seen anything beyond "2014" for the release date. There are some pics of a mockup/prototype (sitting next to the new 35-100 that is also designed to work with the GM1). See this thread: https://www.mu-43.com/showthread.php?t=54152

No idea on pricing. I expect it to be in the $500-600 range. The Oly 25 1.8 is $400, and the Panaleica 25 1.4 is about $600, so there is a logical price point between $500 and $600. The Leica name is expensive.

The camerastore here sells it on pre-order for June with a price of EUR 599,-.
I was exhited for the results of this lens but was dissapointed by the wide angle.
DXO tested and it's similar in sharpness with the 20mm 1.7 and 25mm 1.5 all score 11 points for sharpness.

    The overall score:
    24 points: 25mm 1.4
    22 points: 20mm 1.7
    21 points: 15mm 1.7

I'm glad I picked up a almost new copy of the the 20mm 1.7 for a 3th of the price of the 15mm.

You've posted this in the pre-order thread too..

Glad that you got the 20/1.7 for 1/3 of the price!
I regret selling my 20/1.7.. but will wait for faster AF of the 15/1.7

20mm is not the same as 15mm. The 20 is closer to a normal lens and the 15 is a wide-angle lens. And besides, I believe the rendering and the contrast on the PL 15 lens will be better if we go by the example of the PL 25/1.4 and the Nocticron. They have a bit of the Leica characteristics.

I sold my Zuiko 17/1.8 and pre-ordered the PL 15/1.7.

Yeah I was a bit over enthusiastic today as I received my 20mm 1.7. I later saw that the last reply in this topic was from January.

The autofocus of the new 15 seems to be comparable to the Olympus 25mm. So I think much faster than the 20mm 1.7 which I find a bit slower compared to the zuiko 17mm 2.8 and slow compared to the voigtlander 25mm. But it's more than oke for it's purpose.
This preview of the 15 writes:

We tested this lens on the Olympus OMD EM5 and found its performance to be just as speedy as any Olympus lens on the camera. In fact, if we had to compare it to anything we’d say that we found the lens to focus only a tad slower than the Olympus 25mm f1.8.

So you should be in for a threat with the autofocus. Are you getting one?

Your'e absolutely right. It makes a big difference in angle.
You like the wide angle view, for what occasions you use this angle mostly?
I had a Coolpix A and I found the 28mm angle too wide for my general use.
I'm also very curious for the color rendering. But I'm wondering if I like Leica like rendering, I haven't figured out yet. On one hand it feels like Leica on other hand it feels like getting Leica colors but inferiour.

As a European I would think that you would find a wide-angle lens rather useful as European cities are very compact/crammed compared to American cities. I go to Venice almost every year and it's hard to photograph anything without a wide-angle lens. When I am there my panasonic 7-14 lens is the most useful lens (when I am not shooting portraits) followed by the 12-40 lens.

I like to photograph people from a reasonable close view. But I have to admit I enjoyed the 14-42 which recently came with the E-P5 and used the 14 angle more than I had expected.
