Yesterday I had a long hike... and.. the lack of neck-/backache made me love this lens even more! I took some pictures of wild deer (relatively big) and a very very small bird (Goldcrest/Regulus regulus...) and a very interesting 'mushroom' high up in a tree....

Oh Deer....

Just got a used copy of this lens. Distinctly sharper than my 100-300 II with a lot less C/A, but just as slow. I think the PDAF needs micro-adjust, however, whereas the 100-300 didn't.

The edge of the a coot's white beak would previously have been a mess of pink C/A on the 100-300. The PL does much better. Slightly more annoyingly, I've never had to clean up so much moiré in plumage before... I guess it's the price to be paid for sharpness.

I think I was pushing my luck with these - cropped at 400mm on a windy, cloudy, overcast day.

These are so very nice.
Sharp, clear and detailed, but the subjects are what make it.

Curious are these raw files?
Also do you handhold or tripod?
I'm still finding my EM1 2 and 100-400mm doesn't give results I'd desire for shots like these and your previous ones
