I like my GM5 quite a lot, I will be trying it out with different lenses that I have.
Yesterday I took these with the GM5 with the Oly 15mm BCL attached to it.

Nice shots, I particularly like the one of the sea shells.
I've been to Poole and the surrounng area a few times, it's really picturesque.

Some of my first shots with the GM5. I'm only on LR4, so have had to use adobe converter to convert to DNG and then process the RAW file. I'm not too sure about this yet... but I feel there is less room for recovery in the highlights and may be more in the shadows (vs EM5 sensor).

This last one was taken sneakily with the remote wifi function - using my smart phone.

This thread really doesn't get much love, does it?

Here's one taken with the 12-32mm on GM5. The smaller size makes the GM5 a lightweight camera for hiking.

I promise I will add volumes to this thread once I have my hands on my new GM5... Which arrived at the post office today, but with no delivery on Saturday! So all weekend, no new camera, and I get to pick it up just in time for the work week on Monday :(

When you say there seems to be less leeway in the raw files, were those e-shutter files? I seem to have read that photos made with the e-shutter have less dynamic range than the mechanical shutter. Nice shots, by the way!

To be honest, that was some intial first impressions, not sure if it is the case still. I haven't directly compared files from the two camera to be sure.

I have also read that the electronic shutter has less DR.

My eagerly anticipated GM-5 arrived yesterday. It only took 5 days to get to me in Arizona from Hong Kong but it seemed like a lot longer. Today, after charging the battery overnight, and despite the over 100 degree temperatures I took it out to our local train themed park in Scottsdale, Arizona for a few tourist type test shots using the 12-32 kit lens. The only addition was a polarizer filter as one or a ND filter is always needed out here in our harsh sun. In addition, I never leave home without a filter of some type on my lenses as a precaution against damage to the outer lens element.

It was relatively early in the morning and due to sun location I was not able to get some of my favorite angles or shots.

In roaming around the very familiar grounds I noted a soon to be bride sitting/hiding out near one of the historic structures so I took that opportunity to capture a few shots. When I got home I realized that I had accidentally set the sharpness to the maximum which produced a bit of harshness.

This is a French 40 or 8 box car (it had a capacity of 40 men or 8 horses) that was donated to the US by the French after WWII. They sent over one such car for each state. It was originally loaded with thank you gifts, mostly hand made with a lot of obvious care, by the appreciative people of France. This car has been restored and along with the history of these cars and their gifts is on display at the Scottsdale Park. Several years ago I photographed my father, who was wounded in France during WWII, in front of this car.

So far the only issue I have with the GM-5 is that in the sun, the LCD screen is much more difficult to see than my Pentax Q7. Having said that, one of the reasons I purchased the GM-5 was for the EVF which the Q7 does not have and which I used for all of these images, and the fact that it can use the 4/3 lenses I have for my Olympus cameras.

Later in the morning, once I got home out of the heat, I tested the 12-32 kit lens against the very underrated Panasonic 14-45 lens and found the 14-45 to be much sharper.

After I get familiar with the camera and configure it to my shooting style, it will be used as a backup to my two Oly E-M10’s or accompany me when the larger E-M10’s would be inconvenient to take along. So far I like the GM-5.

With Sigma 60mm. I had initially struggled just a bit with jpeg colors with this camera. I set the output to Custom, with -5 noise reduction, and mostly auto white balance. Yesterday I switched to standard setting (still -5 NR) as I've heard several opinions that standard is the best starting point. Switched WB to Sunlight. I'm really pleased with the colors that resulted.

    Welcome to Arizona

GM-5 set to ISO 200, shutter speed 1/30, Panasonic 14-45mm lens with polarizer filter set to f11 at 14mm about one hour after sun rise and before it got up to high and became too hot.

Though it negates the GM-5’s small size and pocketability, the Panasonic 14-45 is my favorite 4/3 lens for smooth operation and sharpness and one that I think is grossly underrated. Since I carry my cameras in my left hand (old school SLR style) holding the lens is no problem.

My lady friend and I were preparing for dinner last night in Scottsdale, Arizona when some storms rolled in. We stepped outside to see the cloud formations and I grabbed this image. Panasonic GM-5 set to aperture priority with 12-32mm kit lens set to 32mm at f5.6, 1/160 second, -0.7 exposure compensation JPG format.
