Just pulled the trigger on my first m4/3 camera. Adorama has the G5 with the 14-42 kit lens, 45-150 lens, and a $100 gift certificate for $598.

Excellent... and congratulations. Maybe try the camera out for a bit and then put that $100 certificate toward a Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 or a Lumix 14mm f/2.5. You could probably get by indefinitely with that kit. Welcome aboard!

Both are great deals. It's a good camera, and the addition of the 45-150 lens makes it even better. I added the 14mm later, and several legacy manual focus lenses.

I had decided to get the deal at B&H, but the 45-150 was out of stock. The deal at Adorama actually had the gift certificate added yesterday as I had just checked that site the day before. So that sealed the deal.

Yes, $45 extra for the long lens is a fantastic deal.

Great deal... I'm enamored with mine thus far. My 20mm is awesome on it as well, and I just added the 45mm, both of which make this body even more impressive! Enjoy!

That's insane pricing. Liking mine so far, but not loving it. It feels a bit foreign and harder to "bond" with. The controls are so different from my Olys.

And the Auto WB just isn't as good!

Agree on the controls, but I'm warming up to them. But the WB is definitely not the same!

for the price I could live with the white balance, if you want EM-5 AWB you will have to pay twice as much and lenses on top, If shoot in RAW, white balance is not so big an issue

What issues do you have with the controls? I find them straight forward and very intuitive. The back wheel is a pain in the butt compared to my G2 though.

True... thanks to deals like this I was able to get the G5 with 14-42, 45-150, 14, and 100-300 for about the same price as the EM-5 with kit 14-42.

Wow, I wish I had seen that. It appears to be over now, price is $998. It was exactly the kind of deal I was looking for to get started into MFT :(

I've seen a similar deal pop up over the past few months, so if you wait one might pop up again.

Just be patient. A great deal on Panasonic gear is never too far off. And unless you are buying a GH3 do not even consider paying close to MSRP.

Thanks for the encouragement! If you happen to notice a similar deal on a G5 + lens package such as this, if you think of it could you post it to this thread? I have an email notification set up for it. I'm guessing these deals are frequent right now because the G6 etc is supposedly being announced in 12 days, but after that time they may end ...

    Thanks again!

Im not sure if this is a deal or not. But from what I have seen its the only place to get a G5 with the 2 Lenses. HSN.com has the G5 for 599.00 plus tax. Hope this helps someone. Still havent made my mind up between the G5 and EPL 5.

Costco has the same two lens kit + sd card + lowepro case + 100 free prints for $599+tax.

Not as good as adorama, but better than HSN.

Where? In store only I presume? The only items returned on a search of "lumix" at costco.com are FZ200 and LX7 bundle.

If it's in store, it's not guaranteed that other people will have same deal locally.
