As you know there is no on/off switch on the lens but i cant find a way of switching it off in camera,is this right.
Its not a long term problem but i am using it at the moment for bird in flight pictures and could do with it off.

    Thanks
    mike

    Could you specify which camera?

On the Panasonic G7 it's Menu -> Photo Rec -> Page 7 -> Stabilizer OFF.

Consulting your camera's manual (perhaps Ctrl+F for "stabil") should help!

I believe my instructions for the G7 should apply to the GX8.

You can find it on Page 217 of this GX8 PDF Manual: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/camera/om/dmc-gx8_adv_en_om.pdf

Let me know if you cannot find it.

Try watching this video, it should help.

Approximately 10/11/12 seconds in you will see "Stabilizer" at the bottom of Page 7.

You will probably need to pause the video or go YouTube Video Cog (bottom right) -> Speed -> 0.25x to find it easily.
