I really wish I could put my finger on why I love this little gem of a lens so much - this is a sooc jpeg (Mono2 with slight tweeks & without grain) at the end of our house drive this morning. A foggy, cold Lincolnshire day:

I think it has a lot of field curvature, uncorrected distortion and vignetting wide open. But it is sharp in the middle, and has nice bokeh. So all in all, a lot of character. The field curvature also lends itself to increased subject separation more so than what the DoF might suggest.

Folk talk about the so called "leica look" if it did exist then the P20 definitely falls into that category... No other lens in any system does that " look" for such little cost:love:

This lens is quiet good for portrait too. Here a japanese young girl dressed with traditional clothes.

GX80+P20mm @ f8,1/800, ISO400 (I made the mistake of shoot at f8, instead of open wider and reduce ISO)

The sharpness of this lens is very good. Here an example of a heavily cropped picture. Still good detail on it
I usually use this lens even if I have to crop later.

I was an idiot to think a phone would be replacement for taking nice pictures. Since I got my GX9 and this lens, it's been a blessing.
Unlike me, my kid is going to have a great picture book.
