I'm still digging through, but they look good to me as well!

Look good to me too - look forward to seeing some reviews. Just wish they had made it a teensy bit wider. Love the smallness of it though - great match for a GF1 surely.

Think I'll be getting it as I'm hoping to catch the Aurora Borealis in Feb. Not really much other choice on :43:. I have the Panny 7-14, but I thinks that extra stop and a third will come in handy.

Corners are quite soft, otherwise looks good. Will be getting it nevertheless on day 1 - hope it gets released before my trip in early November!

I did some comparisons against Panasonic 7-14mm F4 samples on DPReview, and the pancake is significantly softer in the corners than the zoom at 14mm. This is quite surprising, and am considering getting the zoom instead since it looks unlikely there will ever be a ~7mm prime.

    Harri,
Before you make a decision, it would be wise to seek more samples from another location.
Just so you get more info.
Please post your findings here as we all await your findings.
    Thanks...don

I agree fully, but those are the only full-size samples I've been able to find. I'm going on a trip in early November and I need a wide angle, UWA preferred, before it, and time is running out :(

The Oly 9-18 is getting tempting - down to $570 US. If it gets to $500 it will be hard not to pull the trigger.

Maybe you should rethink your lenses for the early Nov vacation.
A lens on the camera is worth 2 in the store.
I dont think the 14 will make early Nov but I wish it would.

Yep, that's another reason to consider the 7-14mm.

How much is the price (USD) going to be on this again?
This was the range I wanted initially, when I bought the GF1, so I'm definitely planning on eventually getting it if the quality is good.

    Janus,
I believe it's gonna be around $399.00 USD.
    That seem about right....

$500 seems like a bargain, compared to UK prices. It's more or less relpace the $ with a £, but it seems that's always the case which is why I tend to import a lot of stuff and pay the duty and VAT.

Was going to import the 9-18, but consider myself lucky to have got offered the 7-14 through a friend of a friend for £500, it's a great lens and that was a great price.

I'll still be getting the 14mm pancake though as that extra stop and a bit over the 7-14 might just mean getting a keeper on my Iceland trip, don't think I'll be going back again for a while.

This looks tempting after I get the $ but I think I'll go with the tokina 11-16 since I mainly do video. However if the AF is considerably better than the 20mm then I will buy it for a single project which I need AF for.

    Hey folks,
I'm new to this forum. 'Thought my first picture post here might be this image I took the other day with my new 14/2.5. 'Looks to me to be a very useable lens so far.
    E-PL1, Lumix 14mm, ISO160, processed in LR3.
