There's clearly not much love displayed for this lens. And I am massively and illogically biased towards primes mostly. But today I was going ice skating, so I took out the body and lens combo that are my least valuable (and hence easiest/cheapest to replace) in case I was to have a fall - not being the greatest skater the world has ever seen.

And hey - it reminded me that this lens is still better than probably any photographic equipment I owned in the many decades before I got it in 2012... Not to mention the fact that a zoom is REALLY useful for photography on an ice rink when you're not very good at staying no your feet!

Borrowed this lens from my brother, mainly to chek out the fl. But it gives decent enough results on my M10.2 :)

Supposedly this was the worst kit lens in the m4/3 line up, and I haven't used it in years.... wow we're spoiled.

Haven't shot with this lens in a long time -- and for this event I wish I had brought my faster p20 -- but it still performs way above my expectations for a kit lens. From last Friday's Apollo 50: Shoot for the Moon celebration. Also wish I had attended more showings and gone up for a closer shoot, but not living in the area any longer puts a damper on late night visits to DC.

Video of the Friday night 11:30pm performance at not quite 17 minutes. I'm too far away to hear the supplementary audio, but if you missed the event, at least you can see how the projections animated across the monument. Made the rookie mistake of not locking focus, so there are several focus pumping instances when the camera got confused. Dude behind me with the giant camera snapping away gets a bit annoying -- maybe I should replace the audio track with music or something. Watch full-screen if you can.
