Panasonic 14-42/3.5-5.6 II announced

    So there will be a new Panasonic 'kit' lens come March.

    Looks like they took the old 14-42, cut weight by 30%, shrank the dimensions and filter size a bit (46mm now instead of 52mm) and slightly improved close-focus ability (0.17x instead of 0.13x). The optical formula also gets an update.
  2. 1. Whether by design or coincidence, the filter size now matches the four 14mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 45mm primes.
    2. Interesting to note that it has a variable minimum focus distance. Rare for an interchangable lens.
    3. The old 14-45mm will probably still be the daddy of kit zooms.

    It can take Panasonic conversion lenses without any adapters now...
