14-140 with 16:9 Framing

One nifty feature of the GH2 is its ability to shoot a full 16MP in 16:9 format. This yeilds a slightly wider image. I can't say exactly how much wider this is, but I'd estimate that it is about equivalent to a 24mm lens on a 35mm camera when shot with the 14-140 lens is at its widest.

This shot is from the Essex River in Massachusetts at dawn, Sunday, August 14th. We had eleven club boats in the river overnight. Nine are in this picture, the other two are the one I'm on and one other further upstream.

Probably the most underrated lens in m4/3's....

IMHO. Yes it's quite big and heavy by m4/3's standards but it has a lot going for it. I've used it quite a lot of late and have been very happy with it's versatility and overall performance. The bokeh from it is pretty nice too :). Here are a few recent shots from it on my GH2.

GH1 with 14-140. I don't have either anymore - maybe I should have hung onto them. Both pictures jpegs with little or no PP.

Eclipse over Tokyo with the 14-140. (the original is much sharper - is there a way to post full-Rez?)

Moon Shot

Since you have a lot of unused pixels when you cut your image down for 72dpi web photos, why not crop the photo some and really zoom in? I don't think you would lose anything.

Also, after changing your image for web display at 72dps, be sure to re-sharpen. I find that USM at about 200/.3/0 works well for GH2 images when I'm posting to the web.

Who says you can't do available light with a "kit" zoom?

This is my wife's favourite lens due to the versatility of the focal range. Here are some of my favourite shots we took last year in Italy/Croatia. All GF1 + 14-140. They could use a little PP to straighten/crop a bit here and there, but largely OOC other than a B&W process on some.

From Venice:

Just got this lens and only chance to shoot was at night so I figured try for the hardest shot at full zoom LOL.

Are you talking to me?

Just a quick shot SOOC from the porch. This deer proceeded to finish his lunch before strolling away. He is one of the family we have that have been eating all our vegetation with complete disregard to the proximity to us, humans. I nicknamed them the Lawnmower family

Great action shots GRID!

This thread just reminded me of a couple I took the other day with the 14-140, trying for some closeups. Set out with no particular goal in mind and it happened to be right in between heavy rainstorms so I thought I'd shoot some flowers.
