Showcase Panasonic 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6

I love the 12-60/3.5-5.6. I got it as a kit lens when I bought a GX9 and I really didn't need it. I already had the original Panasonic m43 kit lens, the 14-45, which is a great little lens. Since that first kit lens, I have added a variety of much more expensive and highly regarded lenses to my collection (12-35/2.8, 35-100/2.8, 8-18/2.8-4, 100-400/4-6.3, 15/1.7, 25/1.4, 20/1.7). So the 12-60 wasn't something I was eager to have. But when we went on a Caribbean cruise last summer, I decided to travel light and just for fun, I brought the 12-60 instead of my usual 12-35/2.8 and 35-100/2.8 duo. I knew I'd be shooting outdoors, in good daylight most of the time plus I brought along the 15/1.7 for indoors and the 8-18 just in case.

The 12-60 performed very well. I appreciated its light weight and versatile focal range. I didn't like being limited to f/5.6 on the long end but, realistically, it didn't hamper me very much. In fact, the lens is good enough that it has dulled my interest in the Panasonic Leica 12-60/2.8-4...the kit 12-60 is already good enough plus I have the 12-35/2.8 if I need a faster aperture.

Like most everyone in this thread, I am more than pleased with the 12-60mm f3.5 Lumix lens for all the reasons stated elsewhere - light-weight, reasonable size, great performance (punching well above its weight, so to speak). While I've brought my 45-175mm along for this trip, I haven't yet felt the need to use it.

Otago Harbor in Dunedin, NZ.
The lighthouse photo is of the very first strip of land you pass coming into the harbor.
The tug was helping to dock our ship.

Was there some movement around the flowers, only there seems to be some burnout (?) around the petals?

There was a bit of breeze, and the flower moved slightly during the exposure. You really need a static subject for focus stacking, more so if the the main subject is closer to the camera. A lot depends on the conditions, and you can see that the other shot doesn't have the same problem - probably becaus ethe flowers were smaller, and not so affected by the breeze.

Both flowers seem to have the same problem, the second one doesn't have it allover as the first but only on the top and right hand side.
What SW did you use for stacking? You might get better results from something else. (Not that I am an expert or anything.)

They were both done using the in-camera focus stacking mode.
