Just wondering if any more folk have picked up the Panasonix 12-35? Not many shots in the sample thread and was looking for some general impressions....

I've posted a bunch of photos with mine as well, unfortunately there's no easy way I can find to link all my Flickr published photos that were done with it. There's a few here:

You can check out my Summer of Photos Flickr gallery if you want, there's a handful of 12-35 photos in there. Everything in that gallery shot between the horse statue and the one of the chandelier/wall print was with the 12-35mm for example.

Here's a selection of some of the more interesting ones (I'll add these to the sample image thread also now that I think about it).

It's still in pretty short supply, which is probably the main reason we're not seeing many pics. Not very many people have it yet.

Not to mention the price...most expensive single item in the system (either body or lens)..

The 12-35 is well worth the asking price IMO; unless maybe you already own a set of primes. I've been very happy with the images coming out of the OM-D/12-35 combo...

The price of the lens keep on dropping, in Japan Amazon it is only 72000 yen, on ebay the price have fallen to $1100ish, I probably get one when the price is under $1000 include shipping (in time for end of year holiday trip)

Though if it is bundled with GH3 the price could be even lower, but I don't think I can wait that long giving Panasonic's history of supply

That's a really good price on Amazon Japan, it's about 16000 yen cheaper than on launch date! I'm assuming it's at a low point in Amazon's usual price fluctuations.

Has anyone tried using it with the Kenko extension tubes? I'm amazed how close I can focus with it, I'm tempted to buy the tubes just to try and see if I can get 1:1 or better macro.

report back if you do :)

It wasn't on my list of purchase criteria but now that I have it, I really like the close-focusing aspect of this lens a lot. I wish all my lenses could do that, works great for flower shots and close-ups!

It appears to be a very nice lens, but a thousand! One of the reason for choosing m43 is the small lens size and hopefully a little lower price... ;-)

Lol, well it's still cheeper than FF or MF systems... In most of the rest of the world of electronics, gadgets, hiking gear, ect... anything that weights less, takes up less space, and is just as functional always costs more. Often times much much more.

There are some cracking shots from this lens, it's toting but is very pricey although at £900 in the UK it's roughy the cost of a 12mm and 25mm

You can get it for £875 from SRS and this month Pany give £50 cashback so £825 which is what I paid. That's not too bad in my opinion, it's a cracker lens.

This is almost a 100% crop.

Size and price don't correlate. Quality and price do.

That is pretty impressive for such a crop...if you find the time I'd love to see the full frame.
    Cheers mate.
