A few weeks ago a few friends and I flew to Spokane, Washington the off we go to discover Palouse. Unfortunately, the weather was overcast and rain...so we waited until it stopped raining and by the time we got to Palouse Falls it was way dark already...that's OK with us since we were there to shoot some Milky Way any way. These shots were taken with 7-14mm F2.8, 40-150mm F2.8 + Mc-14 and 300mm F4 IS

After we were done with Milky Way, off we go to Steptoe Butte where a panorama view of the plain and rolling hills of Palouse...however the clouds were too thick to let light going through except for some brief moments

  6. Fantastic work Nam. You have really captured the feeling of the region. I lived in the area for 5 years in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I haven’t been back since then, so the photos bring back lots of memories.

  7. These are wonderful pictures Nam. I will have show them to Sue (my partner) as she wants to go down to the Palouse and this might "fire her" up again.
You certainly set the standard for landscape pictures, thanks for sharing.

Really like the images, love the way you have used the 300mm lens to get an interesting view/presepctive on the landscape.

    No kidding!

I can't accept that the majority of these are real shots, I'm must be having some sort of Technicolor drug trip.

Nam, you do beautiful work and I love how you use a telephoto and still make me feel like I'm taking in a wide swath of the landscape.

Amazing shots! evruthing from composition to color is great work. How did you do in PP shot 2-5 have some really interesting colors - did you use splittone or WB? or is it simply the diffused light that produces these colors?

Awesome shots! I live an hour from Palouse and I have never taken pictures there. Driven through a few times though. I really need to get out there with my camera.

WOW those are fantastic photos! My fiance is from that region...visited with her many times but never been to Palouse Falls. Need to put it on my short list for next time. Love all that color at this time of year.

    Thank you @Snowonuluru@Snowonuluru, @Kalifornier@Kalifornier, @Harvey Melvin Richards@Harvey Melvin Richards, @Alberta Dave@Alberta Dave, @ADemuth@ADemuth, @StefanKruse@StefanKruse, @jdcope@jdcope,, @kimo@kimo and @DynaSport@DynaSport.

Palouse is really a beautiful area, I will definitely return.

Believe it nor not I didn't use much PP just in Adobe Camera Raw then in Photoshop I use Google Nik Collection Color Efx Pro 4 Pro contrast...The secret is I used a circular polarizer to boost the color.

That's always the problem, we always take for granted whatever are close to us...I lived in Paris for 18 years and never once went up the Eiffel Tower, only after I moved to the US and only then that I wanted to go up and see :)
