Was in Victoria BC the other day and in between things wandered out of the hotel and spent some time watching Harbour Air and WestCoast Air do their thing. I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning and there's nothing like the sound of a PT-6 winding up.

These birds are only tied up for 10 to 15 minutes between flights. Just enough time for the pilot to wolf down a sandwich and cup of coffee before doing it all over again.

Very nice! Yes, what is it about prop planes and seaplanes, especially, that just seem to call out to many of us - even if we haven't jumped out of them? They're so much more real to me and have personality. I think that's a a big part of it for me, plus, and I am really dating myself here, there's always Sky King.
