    Hi guys,

I found this picture that I made last winter and I thought I would share it. I was just trying out my lens with this target and I never got to spend any time on it as I was more interested in other targets.

It is a single 180 second shot at ISO 800 with no darks, bias or flat frames and no noise reduction. It was taken with a modified Olympus EPM2 and Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 lens at f/2.8. This is the actual field of view without any cropping.

This winter I will spend the time that this two targets deserve...

    Cheers

    Orion.

Neat. Any idea what those faint streaks are?

It looks like a low flying aircraft, but I'd expect to see red lights.

Are the streaks satellites, or asteroids? They haven't moved very far in 3 minutes, far too slow to be earth-bound...

Those are meteors. There was a meteor shower that month and it was one of the reasons I didn't pursue this target then.
