B&H sent me the in stock notice and I pulled the trigger. It's been a while since I had a for real nifty (equiv.) fifty. I'll see how the 14, 25 and 45 hang together. I'm actually pretty psyched. I spent much of my photographic life behind a 50 mm lens.

I hope they ship the pre-orders first. That would only be fair.

I can't wait to see some solid comparisons between Oly 25 and Lumix 25 as I am torn between the two.

I want a fast (relatively small) prime and debating between getting the Oly 17mm 1.8 (again) or the 25mm 1.8. I liked the 50mm FOV in my film days but think that the 17mm (34mm FOV) will be more versatile. Oh the problems!!!

Yes but there is CV 25 which I can't get my mind off ...

From all I've seen, the Oly renders just like the 45mm Zuiko (strong microcontrast, neutral color, creamy bokeh). The Leica has stronger macrocontrast and lush color (however, it never gets over saturated). The bokeh is more sparkly, yet still quite smooth.
The 45mm Zuiko looks more 'real', at times even gritty, the Leica looks more 'film-like' and smooth (except for the bokeh :p), at least to my eyes. I much prefer the Leica, and the 1.4 max. aperture only helps ;)

I'll be curious to see. I really like my 45 so a shorter FL version is what I'm hoping for. As has been said often lately, it's good we have choices to fit our preferences.

Just out of curiosity was the PL25 never an option? it sounds like you've been wanting a 50mm eqv for quite some time now and it just so happens that there has been an auto-focussing native m43 option for years now which also happens to be one of the technically best 50mm eqv lenses in ANY format !

Just ordered mine as well right now. I figure I will own the lens for as long as I use M43 as 25mm is main FL so what the heck, might as well work fork out the $$$ instead of doing the usual & waiting for used copies to come about. Pretty excited now :)

:) reckon that, I have the same issue. But since I have the 14/2.5 I think I might use something a little longer and have the 14 with me also. Hope someone gets the 25 soon so we will see how good it is :)

So I defied logic and got a Voigtlander 25mm 0.95... This on the eve of the Oly 25 announcement... Well, I don't regret it! This Voigtlander is one extreme (low light, manual and old-school build), and the new Oly prime will be the other (versatility, light-weight, likely better auto-focus than the PL and attractive price)... OK, I talked myself into needing it as a "back up" for the Voigtlander... (which is, after a day with it, "soft and dreamy" and also a downright challenge to point and shoot. But, it will rule for night/city/street life/low light portrait.
But, final thought: I love the 17mm 1.8 field of view perhaps better for street shooting...

Just psychology. Obviously, I don't need this lens and the 20 and then the 17 could get the job done. The PL25 always looked big and cost just enough more to make me not hit the "Place Your Order". There is no question that the similarly to the 45 was a deciding factor.

I don't think they would have listed it as In Stock if they hadn't already fulfilled all their preorder commitments.

I received mine this morning from B&H. Haven't shot anything with it yet. Only problem I see is... I can't figure out how to attach the lens hood!

I like and my PL 25 at f/1.4 has served very well for some cool product photos and low light capability is great. Personally I don't have a need to switch to the Oly as I don't see a benefit. But that's me...
