I like them , the third one especially because of the positioning.

    Nice work Rafael.

What a great idea to photograph these beautiful flowers as they open! Lovely soft quality to their intense colors. Orchids are such an unusual mix of strength and beauty.

I wonder if you've ever tried one of these images with a white background?

All are beautiful but my favorite is the first one. It reminds me of delicate Japanese drawings. It also has a different color balance than the other photos

Your wish is my command, Sir

Changing the background colour is very easy in my setup. The background is a 50' flatscreen :biggrin:

So here it is on black also :

Today, I shot my orchid with the Micro-Nikkor 200/4.0 in front of a window.

I really like those two "in front of the window" photos. The soft focus really works well. The first is my favorite of all because it allows the delicate yet strong design of the flower show itself. It has a light and beautiful quality.

I have to ask - are the earlier photos of a different color orchid?

No, these are all the same flowers, but at different stages of ripeness, they change their colour a little.
And also, lighting and PP make them look different.
I don't search for identic reproduction of colour, just want to achieve something that pleases the eye !
