Shot this with my EM5 using a Williams Optics GTF 102mm, its a 3 minute exposure on an equatorial mount using a guide scope and PHD guiding software. The focus is a little off. Was going to do a sequence of 10 shots, but you guessed it, the clouds rolled in. Such is the life of an astrophotographer. Its almost full moon here so not the best time to photograph anyway. So I took an image of the moon.

Wow, that moon shot is about as sharp and pleasant as any I've ever seen, amazing work! Love the telescope, and judging by the background you're in a nice warm place

Telescope porn is my fav. :)

Warmer than Dublin, but maybe just as cloudy.

    Very nice Phil.

Would it be possible to see an image of your E-M5 mounted on your 'scope? I'm still in the equipment collection phase (don't even yet have a telescope of my own), but am anxious to see what other folks are using. I will also want to discuss set-up (at a later date) as I progress. In the photo of your WO 102, it appears you have a single speed focuser, but in the WO catalog the scope is shown with a dual-speed focuser. Is yours an older model?

What brand/model EQ mount is that in the last image? I have been considering an AVX, but that doesn't look like one to me.

    Thanks for humoring me. :)

That's a good moonshot, Phil! I did much like you a couple nights ago, when I was testing my repaired equatorial mount under bright moonlight. All I needed for testing was stars, which have been scarce lately. When that was done, the sky was too bright and a little hazy for imaging deep sky objects, so I turned my scope to the moon. Seeing was so bad that the moon had wavy edges. No keepers.

I'd like to see more scope porn, too, preferably mated to a camera.

The skies here have been cloudy for mounts.. sigh!!

Slothead.. I will get you a photo of the OMD on the scope.. trust me its coming.

The WO had a dual speed focuser. One of the focus knobs screws off and reveals a smaller red fine focus adjustment.

The mount is an Ioptron IEQ30. Its a very good mount. As you can see I have a tripod setup but I will soon get a pier as I think its a more stable setup.

What I like about my setup is its very portable and only takes a few minutes to put together.. polar alignment.. now that's a different kettle of fish.

    Any questions please ask..

    cheers
