Im lookin for one too.

Im not sure how it works neither does he. But this is all i could find online.
There's no built-in IR REMOTE capability.
What you need to get is one where the radio receiver plugs into the Olympus proprietary usb socket, with a radio transmitter that you hold in your hand.
Most of the radio shutter releases on the market have a 1/8" socket for the cable you need for your camera...with that setup I can use the same remote release for any brand of digital camera with the purchase of a cable.
There are basic ones that just have the focus and fire trigger, but my favourite is the Pixel TW-282 which has invalometer and timer features.
Additional, here's a nice page on the Pixel TW-282 remote:

Actually, thanks to that page I just learned that you can plug the cable right into the remote...will have to have a look at mine when I get home.
