OMD HLD-6: Not convinced I love it...

It's one of the reasons I haven't bought the Olympus grip. I had to do the same with my half case. And that uses a coin each time.

I like the JLM but the shipping cost to where I am bumps up the price considerably. Still not good value for me.

taking off the grip takes no more than 20 secs

My experience with battery changes is that they happen in the most inconvenient times -- in the middle of shooting pictures, usually for me. 20 seconds can be a long time in that situation.

I first got the HLD-6 in pure GAS.

I mostly use it during extended photo excursions where my hand would easily cramp on the small E-M5 body.

The half-piece I feel is a must when mounting a chunky lens like the PL25.

The 20 and 45 don't need either of the grip(s) to handle all day.

I bought the grip and the CS36FBC case as well. I have to say that the half-part of the case provides almost the same griping power as the HLD6's horizontal landscape portion. Then, when I venture out, I can put the top cover on my camera and I feel it is safe from accidental bumps. I plan on using the HLD6 when I mount a large flash like an FL50R on the camera.
