Anyone has one of these AC-3 AC adapter ?.

Does it charge the grip and the camera battery ?

When plugged in AC , is the camera fully functional even without battery´s ???

Thinking about the possibility of just using the AC-3 Plug and wire it to connect to external battery. Would be nice if on a long hike,,,,,

About the PLUG. Anyone know if its the same plug as on some other Olympus cameras ?? Maby possible to buy it cheaper that way.

No, it doesn't charge the batteries in the camera; if you look at the batteries in the camera there are only three, and the BLN-1 uses five contacts to charge.

The camera should operate without batteries, but never tried the ac adapter on the EM5.

I'd think that using an external power source on a hike would be a nuisance. Also don't think the connector would offer much of a weather seal.

It MAY use the same connector as the AC01, the external power supply for the pro cameras (E5, E3, etc.), but unless you see both side by side, or have the demensions for each connector, who knows. Anyway the AC01 is just as expensive.
