I tried multiple times to update the camera through the software provided but the prompt on the screen continued to say error. Anyone with constructive help is welcome to reply. Thanks

I haven't encountered this. At what part of the process do you get the error?

Some tips that might help: Don't plug into a USB hub. Plug straight into the computer. Make sure the camera's USB port is set to storage. Make sure you're using the latest version of the update software as well. Make sure you're battery is fully charged.

Other than that, I'm not sure.

when does what prompt say error - and what's on the back of the camera?

if you fire up the updater first, with all it's advice notes, then plug in the camera with a USB cable, storage mode, and press [next] on the computer screen.....what happens? It should see and list your camera and it's software?

    Do you get that far?

I don't own an EM1, so this question may be N/A, but - is the USB port in the correct mode, if that's necessary with the EM1?
