Just received my E-M5 - the battery in the box has a mfg date of 03-12 so a year old. I've always believed L-IONs have a three year life (in use or not) so it seems to be I've lost a third of my battery life. The battery appears to have gone flat overnight in the camera so will probably have to return anyway although I'll give it another full charge.

The camera is also an early production run looking at the serial and the v1.1 firmware. It's covered under the crack recall.

Anyone else received a very old model? This is from a (the) major online retailer in the UK. Not impressed.

Which crack recall? Never heard about it.

Maybe recall is a bit loose - more like acknowledgement of the issue. This one here 43 Rumors

Well, enough of that. Bricks every time it's switched on. Shipped the whole thing back for a refund. Bad copy I guess.
