This morning I was trying to get some pictures of my girls before they went to school. This was the first time that I had used the flash. The first two were fine but then it started to act funny. The good ones had an exposure 1/60 sec @ f 4.1 (set to auto) The next few were 0.5 sec @ f 4.1 (auto). It almost seemed like the flash made a funny noise and the shutter stayed open.

I then tried turning the camera off and on again and the other shots seem fine.

How was your battery? The flash relies on the main battery - perhaps it had not recycled?

The battery was good. It was not fully charged but the indicator had not come on yet. I am thinking it had close to 70%+-
