I was hopping to snatch the 17mm 1.8, but I guess that one is not on sale. Does it ever go on sale?
(New is almost the same as reconditioned ATM)

It's $350 new at Adorama/BH/Amazon/etc supposedly so they can start clearing inventory for the 17mm f/1.2

I had been waiting for them to do a 20% sale. I kept watching the inventory build up and was expecting something for Labor Day. However, these days they no longer seem to align the sales with a long weekend. Disappointing that the EM1 ii is only $100 off rather than 20% off ($340 off). Probably just as well though, since I ordered a refurb 7-14 f2.8 and might have ordered the EM1 ii as well if it had been 20% off. I wish they would allow the coupon and allow redemption of points at the same time.

I put the trigger on the ED 12-40mm f2.8 pro lens. It's $592.27 after NY tax. I am also canon user but can't afford the equivalent f2.8 zoom lens.

It has competition from the Lumix 25 f1.7 on the price front. Anyone know how they compare in performance?

Mostly equivalent I've heard. The Oly supposedly has slightly better sharpness and is more compact, but some prefer the "rendering" of the lumix.

I'm getting the Oly 17mm 1.8 soon, is it still worth it to have a 25mm? If so, would you recommend the oly or the lumix? I have a gx85 and I'm thinking about using it for portraits.

Impulse buy! I couldn't resist a 25mm f/1.8 for $159. (Note, you need to use the discount code SEPTOUTLET to get the full discount!)

    The 40-150 2.8 is $900. That's a deal.

It's a shame you can't use rewards and a discount code....

Yeah. I got tripped up by this. The order system allows entering a discount code and then redeeming rewards, but quietly removes the discount code. Putting the discount code back in removes the rewards "gift card" - but doesn't restore the points. I then noticed on the "manage rewards" page that I had three "gift cards" redeemed. Oly support didn't answer my questions about this - but they did return the latest card to points. This tells me that only trial and error will show which "redeemed" credits are still valid. Ugh.

For various reasons, the whole process of getting this resolved was a bit of a mess.

It makes me wonder how they were able to design an extremely complex app that gives me full control of my E-M10II through my phone, but can't design a website that functions smoothly.. :hmmm:

Funny, I had a lot of problems getting the phone app to control my E-M5 II last week. That wasn't always the case, so maybe I have a problem on my end. Or maybe it likes the E-M10 line better.

The Olympus engineers for their cameras are probably not the same group of people that create their e-commerce sites. In fact, Olympus probably outsources their web developers at a faction of the engineers' salaries.

Grabbed a 7-14 Pro. At that price, couldn't resist any longer.

Maybe it's not the correct forum, but I was curious if anybody had previous experience with buying Olympus reconditioned equipment? I'm thinking of getting a 12-40.
    Thanks

They appear to be out of the 7-14. Drat.
