The E-M5 is hard to beat. Probably the best camera I've ever owned.

I rented both to try out. The OM-D was a joy to use. The X-pro1 was quirky. But it was a pleasant kind of quirkiness.

In low light, I rather have f/1.8 and stabilized.

Your pictures are IMO generally better, but that is nothing to do with the cameras, it's all down to YOU! He's certainly not a bad photographer and the important thing is that you both have fun sharing a hobby that you both enjoy. Good on the pair of you!

+1, several of your pictures looked better to me but not because of the camera.

wowwwww!!!!! thanks everyone! :D thank you for the votes on either side. this certainly is a fun thing that we did! hehe! the fiance is very much SHOCKED that i got so many votes! haha! he said hes going to "get me" when we head out to Times Square this Sunday to have another photo competition. it's going to be harder to take pictures here esp. when theres so many tourists taking pictures and just so crowded on a weekend. wish me luck!

thank you again for all the replies! so fun! :dance3:

New York is a great city to be shooting in. I find that touristy places are sometimes easier to be a photographer because almost nobody looks twice at you. Have fun!

I am late to this thread, but I just voted for you because I like the composition of your shots better in general, and find some of your shots to have more interesting perspectives. I also like the exposure on some of your shots better...

I'm interested in which camera you both prefer and why? It's nice you both have the opportunity to use both cameras, but do you prefer one to the other?

Others have already pointed this out but your shots are in general better composed. :) so I voted for you. It's really not the camera. :p
