    Hey everyone!

So I noticed there was no thread for pictures taken with this lens, so I've started a thread here. Let me start off by posting some of the pictures I took. This is a LOVELY lens. Typical olympus colors and rich texture. Unfortunately, I noticed some distortion on my camera, but I corrected that later in PS. Other people who own this lens, have you noticed this as well?

It's become my prime lens for everyday casual shooting recently. It is real Olympus little gem. Like it so much!

Lovely shots. I will join this thread shortly. Just waiting for my m43 to OM adapter which is in the mail.

I found my old 24/2.8 in the closest unloved for so many years

It will complement my 14/2.5 and 45-175 X which is on its way nicely....

On evil bay you can find options from US$ 120 around up to 220 US$ for last MC version with plain ZUIKO along the rim. Some people ask even more. I believe still other options are available like garage sales, your remote cousine/uncle will and etc. :)

This from my 201nnn serial late copy @ f16. This lens is one of my favourites. Small, light and sharp. Works wide open too!

    ditto!

I have used that on my E-M5 and liked it, as I do the 50 1.8 and the 35 2.8.

Woo! Just got my m43 to OM adapter. Since it's nighttime and pitch black outside (and raining), I started shooting my LCD monitor to test the sharpness at f2.8. Pretty darn impressive, except maybe a touch of softness in the top right corner.

But far less vignetting than on any other lens I have wide open.

Oh how I miss those days of metal lenses and quality machined parts! This little 24/2.8 is a gem and so compact. It's been about 10 years since I used it as well!

    Will post some shots soon.

This thread needs more pictures. Here's some example from my MC version shot without a lens hood. I really like shooting with this lens. It's less contrasty than my OM 50mm f1.8 but it really handles skin colors well (sorry no examples). It's a great alternative to the native lenses if you prefer manual focus and aperture controls on the lens. BTW it's exactly the same size as the 50mm. These are untouched jpgs straight from an E-P1.

Just some thoughts. I think a great kit would be this lens, the 50mm f1.8, and the 100mm f2.8. It would be nice and compact since you only need one adapter that would stay on the camera. You also wouldn't be tied to any one system. Pair that with a full frame body and you would have everything from 24mm to 200mm.

    Here's one more.

My edit from the raw file. Fixed barrel distortion and some other slight tweaks.

Ha, funny you said that. I'm in this thread looking at photos because I've just put together that exact kit...

I've been shooting the 50mm f/1.8 for a few months now and really love it. Great optics, still reasonably small with the adapter fitted, and a joy to use. I had been looking at the 100mm f/2.8 for a while and finally bought one earlier this week.

Then I started thinking that an OM->M43 Speed Booster was starting to make sense, as I own more than one lens with that mount. As I was reading about using the Speed Booster with OM lenses, I saw one user mention that the 24mm becomes a 17mm...and wouldn't you know, I had recently been thinking that I miss the 17mm focal length and really wish there was an all-manual alternative to the native Olympus (that's not the heavy Voigtlander). So I found a clean copy of the 24mm and bought that as well, then promptly put a Speed Booster on order. (Everything is still shipping, will be a week or two before everything arrives from various parts of the world.)

So I now have three OM lenses -- 24mm, 50mm, 100mm -- and a Speed Booster, which effectively gives me six focal lengths with three fantastic manual lenses. I may never use a native lens again :)

Well I'm pretty impressed with this little lens. The sharp detail that comes through -- even at f/2.8 -- gives me the same surprise my Ricoh GR does. "It's wide angle, there won't be detail there," and then after zooming in, "Oh, never mind!"

Sharpness never does quite come through until you click through on Flickr.

I finally got (again!) the native 25mm f1.8 Olympus, but before that I use the 28mm f3.5, which was amazingly good on the E-M5.
    _2086536%20copy-X2.

I was going to get the 24 when I got a good deal on the native 25. I own three OM cameras, though, so I might yet acquire it.

A few shots with the 24mm on a Metabones Speed Booster. Basically becomes a 17mm/35mm lens -- more fun than the native 17mm I had for a while.
