Olympus OM-D EM-1 Record Movie Using Shutter Button

Discussion in 'Olympus Cameras' started by Levster, Jul 23, 2014.

  1. Is it possible to use the shutter release to start recording a movie? I have set my camera to Movie mode and the only way I can start the recording is to press the tiny record button. On my Em-5 I was able to use the shutter release to start the recording and the record button acquired focus. Has anyone managed to get this working on the EM-1?

I don't think so, which seems very stupid to me. I can't use my remote shutter to start video recording when it's in video mode.
  3. I have looked all through the settings and could not see an option. The little record button is far too small and it would make sense to allow use of the shutter button when in the movie position.
