I edited about 2 dozen pictures and they are riddled with hot pixels. Without exaggeration, some images had hundreds of bright red, purple, green, and blue spots that are quite noticeable. In some places, I have noticed them from image to image in the same area. I haven't tried single long exposure with noise reduction yet but HHHR is ny-on useless for astrophotography and long exposures which is a huge disappointment for me. I noticed hot pixels (admittedly only a handful of them) even with 3-second exposure.

Wow. I'm considering buying this camera, so that is worrisome. I haven't seen anyone else mention that problem so far, so maybe you should try to get your camera replaced and see if the new one is better. Has anyone else noticed many hot pixels on the EM1 III?

I realized the issue was the fact that I haven't left the Long Exposure Noise Reduction on for night shots which will solve the problem on single 20 MP shots. Where it doesn't solve the problem is HHHR and Tripod HR because it does not in fact use Long Exposure Noise Reduction in those modes (meaning it does not close the shutter to counteract the hot pixels).
I have noticed if you do use HHHR and Tripod HR for longer than 1/8th sec hot pixels will show up because the shooting in sequence heats up the sensor/pixels and it can get amplified by the stitching process. And the hot pixels seem to turn from colored dots into colored blobs (about 2 to 4 times bigger than a normal pixel) with a haloing effect on it.
I only noticed this now because I had the chance to actually be outside at night (instead of my night shift work) and use these 2 features. I shouldn't be surprised but I am definitely disappointed.
Don't get me wrong, I still love my Big Oly but it will mean more work to do if I chose to use these features (or sacrifice ISO 200 IQ to ISO 800 to 6400 to increase the shutter speed and reduce the exposure time).

PS. At some point, I will get to edit these holiday pictures and post comparisons screenshots.

Not handheld on this occasion. The camera was on a tripod and set low on a rock too close to the water to handhold. It was remotely triggered. Shutter length was 6 secs.

Did you just take the shot recently or is this from last month. The reason is that I thought I miss opportunity to take images of this galaxy already from my area.

Hi, it was shot the passed weekend (Nov-6) but then from Europe, Sweden. Andromeda was located rather high in the sky towards east by 8 PM, quite good conditions.
