I notice a blue dot close to the left hand of the teddy bear by the wall. I wonder what that is?

That could be hot pixel from the heat that generate the sensor...remember to multiply 7-8 times le exposure time...in a way High Res Mode is like taking long exposure. On mine I can see blue, green and red sometimes.

Also recently got myself a secondhand Olympus EE-1 Dot sight to help with tracking birds when using the 300mm F4 Pro. It really does help once you set it up. Got this one of a fly past black headed gull using the EE-1 and it was much easier to keep the bird in frame (in fact in the burst of 20 shots, 18 were perfectly framed. Although it doesn't look it, he was flying quite fast. Quite a large crop still as he (she) was flying high up, so just a sample image.

I'm finding the AF stick mostly useless for me as I don't stray away from center AF point (I don't know why that is). The stick does feel a bit too short and the traveling distance to get a feedback confirmation when using it feels a bit too heavy. Maybe it loosens up with time but if I'm not using it probably not really?
Same here, glad I have it but finding just moving the focus point with my finger works easier for me. [until it plays up]
The joystick is a bit close for me and I find I have to bend my thumb in too much. Could just be the way I hold the camera.
I think it is better to have though, and I expect to get more use from it when I use the camera more.

How about I recify that with a compilation of my favorites of the past 6 months I had my Big Oly :)
Yes do it! :)

I haven't used my camera because I haven't been out, but today I bought a 9-18mm. Just a test shot when I was buying the lens.

Western Tatras mountains. EM1 III coupled with 12-100. I am not really sure what I would update in this favourite hiking setup. Well, ok, maybe upgrade to EM1 IV and 12-100 II? ;)

Am pondering whether to switch my G9 to other such as this Olympus EM1M3, just couldn't get any satisfying shot of a flying bird.

Any kind fellow member here care to share some bird-in-flight photos taken by this EM1M3 here?

Thanks.

Sorry for being late with the E-M1 Mark III images, I'm on a holiday trip in Sicily. Speaking of which, since this was the first time I actually tested the tripod HHHR and the long exposure, is it just me or is this sensor really damn effing hot ... and not in a good way either. I edited about 2 dozen pictures and they are riddled with hot pixels. Without exaggeration, some images had hundreds of bright red, purple, green, and blue spots that are quite noticeable. In some places, I have noticed them from image to image in the same area. I haven't tried single long exposure with noise reduction yet but HHHR is ny-on useless for astrophotography and long exposures which is a huge disappointment for me. I noticed hot pixels (admittedly only a handful of them) even with 3-second exposure.

Haven’t seen / read too much in this thread, but I want to say and post something.
Might be covered 100 times all ready.
The IBIS is insane! Have had a lot of rain the later days so the rivers in my neighborhood are larger then normal. Was trying the “Olympus live nd filter” (or what that is called) and I’m impressed.
Was able to handheld every nd-filter, but some of the nd5, was unsharp.
Anyways!
Didn’t matter that my tripod wasn’t with me!

*edit.
Just realized I need to retake that picture. It falls in a strange angle IMO.

Here's my take on LiveND with the EM1.3 and 12-100/4. Taken in Austria just below the Hechtsee.
