Olympus is having a sale from now through May 11 on the following gear: $50 off Olympus 17mm f/1.8, now $450: B&H | Amazon $50 off Olympus 45mm f/1.8, now $350: B&H | Amazon $50 off Olympus 40-150mm zoom, now $150: B&H | Amazon $50 off Olympus 12-50mm zoom, now $450: B&H | Amazon $100 off Olympus 12mm f/2 lens, now $700: B&H | Amazon $50-100 off Olympus OM-D E-M5 kits: B&H | Amazon $75 off Olympus E-PM2 kits, now $424: B&H | Amazon
Those EPM2 kit deal is awesome! EPM2 with 14-42 is now cheaper than the body alone! I wish they'd drop the price on body only as well. And the EPL5 too.
For me the 40-150 is a no brainer since I didn't have any lenses longer than 45mm. But I wished I had seen the $99 sale.
I just might get one despite having an EM-5. For me, the evf is a requirement and will come in handy for any possible future Pen I might get, should I decide to get a body based on size. The evf is a product that prevented me from getting a smaller pen body before sale prices because it drove the overall cost into EM-5 territory.
My 40-150R arrive last night. I've taken my test shots this morning and I can confirm what others have said about this lens. It's small, light, actually built well, and the PQ is really good when you consider it's price point.
Thanks, I just ordered one too. My add-on OVF (Ricoh GRD) works great for wide angle stuff, but it's nice to have an EVF for telephoto work.
Excellent, thanks. Didn't think of the Oly site. Update: Except for this disclaimer... Please note: Only the Silver version of the M.45mm lens qualifies for the $50 savings.
Hmm, then the email Oly sent me this morning was very misleading. I posted a message with link to it earlier today. Don't remember exact thread name, but I guess it doesn't matter. -- Sent from my Kindle Fire HD. Please pardon my brevity!
