The same distance, lens and mc14. I got better clarity with the 1.4 than the 2.0 since I could use a higher shutter speed. Still need to work on technique.
There are uses & times for each MC14 & MC20 & using the MC20 with the 40-150 f2.8 lens the maximum aperture at 300mm is f5.6 while the 75-300 lens at 300mm is f6.7, requiring more light to get a fast enough shutter speed to get a good enough image.I wonder if the next Olympus trade in/up promo would let me trade my MC-14 towards the 20? I'm only using the MC-14 when I need the extra reach(and its not quite enough often enough that I'm tempted by the 75-300) or to take pictures of things that I really should get a macro lens for.
So far everyone's posts with the 40-150 PRO have looked as good or better than the 75-300 on average.
If you are not getting sharper images than these with the MC-14 you either have bad technique or a bad TC/lens.Im starting to wonder if theres an issue with my MC-14 I got used. Almost every shot in this thread is sharper than I get with my MC-14 at high shutter speeds.
Its making me want to test out the MC-20 even more though.
Im still testing, but at 1/1600 210mm im leaning towards it being a soft TC.If you are not getting sharper images than these with the MC-14 you either have bad technique or a bad TC/lens.
