Can someone kindly state the minimum focusing distance when coupled with the Olympus 25/1.8?

Also, can one leave the macro converter on at all times? What will be the disadvantages if left permanently on?

    Thanks.

This lists the MFD and magnfication for various lenses: http://asia.olympus-imaging.com/product/dslr/mlens/mconp02/index.html

You don't want to leave a macro converter on all the time because it fixes your focusing to within a small window of very close distances. That's how all of these macro diopters work.
