Excellent images. to my eye, the IQ is not materially different than the 300mm f4 pro. Obviously the reach is more flexible, but IQ looks the same. Do you have that lens and can you offer any comparative opinions?
Pretty impressive for ultra-telephoto zoom to match the image quality a very good prime ...

atmospheric conditions will often limit clarity at distance. I had a 400mm f5.6 for a while and while I found the reach useful it was really hard to find the subjects in complex backgrounds. A zoom with that reach seems much more practical as you can easily zoom out, focus, and zoom in to find your subject. Not sure I would ever need 1000mm in most situations.

Thanks Narin, glad it is informative for you and yes, the duck was a great subject indeed, was glad that I managed to capture it, it's a migratory bird, so pretty rare locally too :cloud-9-039:

If you are keen, here's the album that I will upload progressively to, from thousands of shots made in past few days.

Thanks a lot Wonglp. I did look through them yesterday but seeing them groping as an album is really nice.

There's quite some onion bokeh in certain situations, though in most cases it renders well.

Recently received my copy of this lens. Here are some SOOC examples. The rabbit was in the wild, all others in a zoo. The tiger was shot through plexiglas.

Can I interest anyone on this thread to participate in a double-blind comparison between focus target images taken with the Oly 150-400 and the new Nikon Z 100-400?
Shootout

Here are a couple from yesterday of a male Osprey returning to the nest with breakfast:

Here I tried the built-in 1.25x TC. This image is also somewhat cropped. Sharpness holds up quite well.

Glad I got my lens over a year ago. Hope all of you who've ordered get yours soon.

Good thing I got my order in a couple months ago.
That seems to be for the Japan Market only based on this quote from the press release.

"This situation relates only to the Japan market and the acceptance new orders will be resumed as soon as possible."
