Description: I have reluctantly decided to sell one of my favorite all-time micro four thirds cameras, since it's taking up too much space and not getting used enough. The camera is my Olympus E-P3 - with the 'silver' metal body - and with a rare (factory option) wood-grain grip. I'm the 3rd owner and in the years I've had it, the camera has always functioned perfectly except for the IS (Image Stabilization) module. IS failure is common among many older Olympuses and for most of the photography I've done, not having it hasn't affected it at all.

The lens is the underrated 17mm f/2.8 pancake lens - in the matching silver finish. This is the 2nd 17mm pancake I've owned and it is in many ways the ideal companion to this small, svelte digital body. For those who've owned or used this lens, I don't need to tell you how fine it is. (Note: the lens comes with a cool and totally functional self-opening lens cap/cover which opens when the camera is powered on, and closes when it's powered off!)

The third part of my package is a VF-2 electronic viewfinder - which, for me, totally transformed the handling of this camera. On bright or sunny days when the camera's rear screen washes out, the VF-2 totally transforms it and makes it usable. (Note: the VF-2 also has a cool tilt feature, up to 90 degrees, allowing the camera to be used in a variety of different, lower angles.)

The camera also comes with a thin but comfortable leatherette (it looks and feels a lot like leather but I don't think it is) shoulder/carrying strap.

It's nowhere near as fast as the newer generations of Oly's and Lumixes (obviously) but it's such a beautifully designed and finished camera - but it's still really fun to shoot with, and the older 12Mp sensor is surprisingly capable, especially at lower ISO's.

If I had a little more space on my shelf - or in my camera bag - I would keep this camera forever - but I hate that it's not getting used enough - and want it to go to a new home where it will be appreciated just as much - but used more. (And for Olympus freaks who can't quite believe it: yes, this polished-fake-wood grip was offered by Olympus as a factory add-on accessory, it really came from Olympus!)

NOTE: I'm reducing the price, in the hopes of making this cool package more affordable to other photographers who, like myself, often have larger eyes than wallets ;)

If you can deal with some blown highlights and a slower camera, the colors and depth on that old 12MP sensor are just outstanding.

If I didn't already have an infrared converted camera this would be a perfect setup for an infrared conversion, all three parts of it.
