Some shots taken today with an Olympus E-P2 + Voigtlander 75mm F2.5 Heliar. It was so cold my fingers could hardly move. Great light though.

They are from the jpgs off the camera. A few adjustments in Photoshop, Auto Contrast, slight contrast boost in curves, a bit of selective colour to push the cyan in the sky more towards magenta and that was it.

Film Look

Thank you for that. Well spotted.

Film look - Yes very much so. Its something that I do try to get. I've lost count of the number of people who say "So you're still using film then" to me.

Its all those years of medium format and Velvia, which I usually pushed 1 stop. That was a trick a lot of landscape photographers used in the 90's. It made trannys on a light box jump out at you. Incredible colour.

Its the extra contrast and saturation. I don't actually push the saturation but use this combination in Photoshop.

First - Auto Contrast to even out the levels
Second - a slight lightening in Curves
Finally - a slight contrast boost in Curves again which has the effect of increasing the saturation at the same time. It really punches up the colours.

I found that with my stock and library sales, when digital first came out and there weren't many people doing it, I sold a lot of digital images because they looked "different." When everybody started shooting digital I noticed that my scanned film images were (and still are) selling well, again because now they look "different" so I adjusted my processing to make my digital images "look" more like film.
