So, apparently it is present in the E-M1X already, but not available in the E-M5III or the E-M1III. That's actually too bad, because they won't be including it in the E-M1X upgrade (because it already has it), so probably not in any other upgrades to lower-level cameras. It does seem very odd that they didn't include it with the E-M1III, which has many of the features of the E-M1X.

Edit: yes, I was talking about the E-M5III, but no problem! :) the thread is about the E-M1x

Oops, you're right and he does say it in his review of the E-M1III. He complains about the lack of it in his review of the E-M5III. Jeeezz, these models have me confused! (imagine if I was talking about Panasonic with all its werd model numbers!) Oh well, I wish the E-M5III had My Menu!!

Obviously the processors in the E-M1ii and E-M5iii are just not powerful enough to support the My Menu feature. =)

What I really want is this, if you move the joystick on the E-M1 mk III, you can then adjust the AF area and eye AF mode using the dials. On the E-M1X, if you move the joystick, you can't. I really, really, really want that behaviour replicated.
Press of the AF joystick will get the AF Area and Face Detection change by dials screen.

I just tried it. Incorrect.

This is on the E-M1X it doesn't do it. E-M1 mk III does. I want that behaviour brought to the E-M1X.
My E-M1X does get it but it is flaky. I believe when it doesn't get the Face Detection and AF Area selection screen it is more an user error on my part and I didn't do a direct push down. My E-M1.3 behaves like it should.

I think you're confused, Face Detection won't matter because this is because you've initiated AF (whether that be via half shutter button press or BBF).

If (with default camera settings) you press the Fn button to bring up the AF select area, it will give you the options.
