It's true. Look here (scroll down):

    Black Friday | Olympus

edit: unfortunately, they charge tax... so depending on where you care, the $100 off may be offset quite significantly by taxes.

Hopefully other stores that don't charge tax will be offering the same deal.

    $50 only? That's insulting.

Why is that insulting? They don't owe us any deal at all. If you want a bigger discount on one, buy a refurb.

Yeah, I wasn't really expecting anything on the OM-D, since it is a fairly new camera and selling well.

$100 on the new PENs was a surprise for me... may be enough to push me over the edge on a silver E-PL5 body.

Yeah, I think the $100 off plus the Toshiba card is incentive enough for am epm2 since I want a flash air card anyhow, which basically makes the camera $350.

It's funny - I totally missed that it was a Wi-Fi card... saw just the "flash" and skimmed right over.

I don't think I would use this much, but you could find some buyers for this.

Its a 5% discount. This is not BF level sale.
Heck, I get 3% back for using my amazon credit card at amazon, plus they give back 2% in rewards. That's 5% right there without waiting for Olympus' "sale"

now the million dollar question is. Does any of this wonderful "deals" apply to any human being outside the states?.

Well, go buy it now then and stop with the sense of entitlement. They have no need for huge sales on the OMD since it's such a good seller.

It is lot more useful than it may seem.

Ability to pair it up to your computer, tablet or smartphone is quite refreshing.
Since tablet or smartphone can not read RAW files, I would probably use RAW+jpeg mode and choose small size and normal quality jpeg for quick file transfer for review (or share).

I was in plenty of situation where I had to keep switching cards out to review them on bigger screen. With this I do not have to.

Vistek.ca just released their Black Friday deals. The OM-D E-M5 Silver kit with the 12-50mm is on for $1,049.

    Great buy for us Canadians!

Well I am pissed off at this! I just bought my EPL-5 less than 3 weeks ago at full price, there were no deals to be had and no indication I could have waited and got $100 off.
I have called Olympus with my displeasure and I am waiting for a reply. I think Apple did this on one of their I phones and it pissed so many people off they had to give out store credits. I can see knocking $50 off the OMD but not off a brand new camera. I could have used that $100 towards a Rokinon 7.5
I think this is a shabby way to treat their customers

I noticed the VF-3 is being priced at $99 and the VF-2 is $179 which is what the VF-3 is priced at now. I wouldn't mind taking advantage of one of those deals.
