[...] As creative as a body cap can get; It appears to be a protective body cap for your micro four-thirds camera, but this body cap also doubles as a fisheye lens with an 35mm equivalent focal length of 18mm. [...]

I guess I will get it started...all shot with my tiny little EPL3. I kind of hate how you open the lens with that cheesy little plastic knob that doesn't even really lock into place but I am amazed by the sharpness of this lens. It is at least as sharp as my rokinon 7.5mm fisheye. Will be a perfect compliment to the GR when traveling I think :)

So I know that this quality is not nearly as good as the Rokinon, but do you guys recommend it?

Not nearly as good as the Rokinon? I have both. If you are don't need anything lower than f/8 I would say this lens is better b/c it is smaller and is easier to focus. The rokinon is great when you need to shoot at f/3.5, f/4 or f/5.6. :)

I was really impressed when I opened my image above in Lightroom. I've got no complaints on image quality with the body cap lens based on that, and I also think the 15mm body cap lens is better than you'd expect. I don't have the Rokinon but based on the images I've seen posted from it the thing that stands out for me is that you seem to get more of the fisheye character, more of that curving of straight lines, with the Rokinon, and that would be due to the greater field of view it delivers. I really like seeing that in many images and my one disappointment on first mounting my 9mm body cap lens was that the curvature it delivers wasn't as great as I see in a lot of the Rokinon shots I like.

ephotozine Olympus 9mm f/8 Fisheye Body Cap Lens Review
Olympus' tactic of playing down the optical performance of this lens need not be necessary. Even though this lens only costs £90 and is little more than a body cap with some glass in it, it is still capable of delivering decent quality images. Those who fancy experimenting with the fisheye look but don't relish the thought of forking out proper fisheye money, this lens is ideal.

Overall, this lens is fun to use, thanks to its compact size and fuss-free operation.

Thanks Tom... ordered one. Should be a killer pocket camera with my E-PM1. I de-fisheyed one of your photos to see how it looks. Would it be acceptable to post that here ?

Thanks for this idea David. De-fisheying is a new thing to me. Tried it with GIMP... brilliant !

Aha! I just posted a new thread cause I'd been looking in the wrong forum for this one... D'oh. Anyway, how does de-fishing work? I've been having fun with the BCL as-is but I'd love to try that, I'm new to Lightroom though so I'm not sure where to begin.

Hey, I thought this lens was supposed to be the worst lens ever (according to certain reviews I've seen).
Well Done!

Anyone know if it shows hotspots in the InfraRed? I'd like to use it's wild perspective for my soon to arrive IR converted EM-5.

Cheers,
Mike.
