Just got this lens in black, loving the image quality, but a niggling issue I'm curious if anyone has experienced on this or other Oly lens.
Seems to have happened in only outdoor bright conditions.
Occasionally the lens will "click". With a half press of the shutter it seems to be closing the aperture blades about halfway, then opening back up to full. This all before actually pressing the shutter. So the viewfinder momentarily flashes as the aperture blades do this dance. Actual exposures are fine, and a power off/on or reseat of the lens cleared it. Anyone experienced this before? Aperture blades moving prior to exposure?

Yeah, it's what it's supposed to do. So it doesn't overexpose the live view, if it's in a bright condition it will stop down a little- move away from the bright light and it will stop that and be wide open.

Yeah I was wondering the same why do the blades of these lenses contracting when focusing sometimes. Glad to know the explanation.

    Thanks :)
