Tried to follow a plane for the first time today. I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I heard him bombing the field behind my development so I grabbed the camera and jogged down the street until I could get a view then experimented with settings a little. Tried C-AF but seemed to get better results when set to Tracking. I wish I had thought to remove the CPL that was still on the end from lunar shooting last weekend! Didn’t have long to practice before he was gone over the tree line and on to the next farm.

Here's two I shot handheld the other day, both heavily cropped. I'm only just starting to understand how to shoot the backyard birds with my E-M10. Manual exposure with auto ISO seems to work best. Getting proper focus is still difficult.

I bought my Gx85 and the 75-300II as a travel kit years ago, I only use it once or twice a year. Several days ago I was charging the batteries for it and this couple had lunch at our place. I shot these through 75 year old 6' x 6' foot windows. When you get it right with this setup it does work well. Look at the data, the Doe is at 6400 ISO. A lot of people say the BIS on the Gx85 is not that good, but the doe is at 300mm @ 1/200 f8. I'd say its works well. BTW I just noticed the fuzziness on the Deer's head, that is my IR bird decals on the windows....

Here's an image of a Green Heron I took a few days ago with my E-M5.3 and the 75-300 (at 300, f8, ISO 2500). It has been cropped down to about 3000 px width and had some noise reduction (and sharpening) by Topaz DeNoiseAI.

I just got a new to me 75-300ii. I decided to go to a popular spot to get some pics of Mount Rushmore. These pics were taken at the Doane Robinson Tunnel on Iron Mountain Road. I'm very impressed with the lens. All the images were hand held. I've seen reviews that say the lens isn't sharp at 300mm, but I think the issue is when you shoot wide open. Stopped down to f8 worked great for me!

These are really impressive.
Beautiful compositions.
Never seen photos of those subjects like these.
Was the tunnel first or after the carvings? Amazing alignment either way.
Almost too good to say it happened by chance.

Thanks for sharing :)

I believe Mt Rushmore came first. I was reading that all three tunnels on Iron Mountain Road were built to frame Mt Rushmore.

I agree with you that it can’t be a coincidence.

We went to Bear Country USA, a drive through safari park today. This is the first time I’ve gotten to photograph animals using my new lens.

Two frames shot last week at wildlife refuge in Sudbury, MA, USA. Focusing on the heron was a real problem because of the busy background. OOC JPEG with -0.7 EC in post.

Nice shots! I am wondering why you used f16, however. That is almost certainly not that lens's sweet-spot, and you might have been able to cut your ISO down some too, or gotten a faster shutter speed which would have been beneficial on that 2nd shot (which is already very good, of course). I'm guessing that it might have been to give you more depth of field to help with the focusing against the busy background. If so, yup, that would be a good idea, but I do think pushing it to f16 is perhaps going overboard. Just MHO, and I'm not criticizing at all here. :)
